Dr: What can we do for you:

Me: I've felt really tired and achy for about a week or longer and My lt ear hurts, and my neck hurts right her (she intervenes and says that's your lymph node), Then the last 3 days I have been coughing, congested, runny nose, sore throat; headache, miserable. I have thickening of my sinuses so I'm prone to infections.

Dr: You have a fever, so I believe you have an infection. You have a high heart rate almost tachycardic so I think you are dehydrated. I'm not going to give you an antibiotic because you havent had this for two weeks. Do you need something for the symptoms, I could give you a nasal spray o-0.

I understand not want to dispense antibiotics like candy, but she said I had an infection? I wasnt dehydrated by the way. I mowed and weeded the yard lastnight (I had to because of yard inspections) and afterwards I drank about three bottles of water, and I drank this morning.

I also asked what suggestions she had for my irritable bladder since my hysterectomy and she said I need to stretch it out and hold it longer, and then she said I need to go and not hold it because I would get a UTI. o-0

I'm so frustrated, I feel like crying. I hate dealing with them. I waited a week because I knew if I came in sooner than a week they wouldnt treat, but suddenly it's changed from 1 week to 2 weeks.

Can you see a different doctor?  Sounds like you really need antibiotics and a new doc

If you aren't comfortable with how they treat, you should switch offices. I hope you feel better soon!

I wish. :-( I'm seen on base. I had a really awsome dr. but they eliminated her position! She worked like 70 hours a week and she really took care of us. Now I have a good dr also but I can never get into see him so they make me see a PA. I dont feel like they care at all. I'm so disgusted. It seems like I get a really good dr and then they leave, and I'm left with people who make me feel bad for being seen.

If it's sinusitis, it's been proven antibiotics dont change that. Get the nose spray (steroid?) it helps. get mucinex and whatever she said to get. It works if thats what you have.

Some infections can't be helped by antibiotics.  Doctors are trying to get away from over prescribing. Sorry you are so miserable.  It really does stink to feel so bad.

I cant. I have to be seen on base, or I can switch plans I guess and pay out of pocket, but as a student I cant afford to right now ;-(

I have problems with bladder. I have no inner lining. So I get bladder infections pretty easy. Also because my uretha is so short that I get infections easy. My bladder also bleeds. I take medince to control how much I go. If your not happy with your doctor ask for a Nerouglist (think that's how you spell it)

You don't want to take antibiotics for this. Taking antibiotics for something that you can get through without will increase your immunity to them.
