getting the feeling MIL doesn't want us to get married

So we went to the courthouse today to fill out the application and hopefully set up to get married there. We found out they were totally booked for the rest of the month. Damn it but ok DF's mom is a notary so we will just do it that way. Plus we would all be more comfortable at their house than the courthouse anyway. So we come home and call her to ask if she would be willing. She starts going on that she asked the guy at UPS and he didn't think the court would accept it and blah blah blah. Plus she was being really snotty on the phone with DF. I know the friggin law and she can marry us but she can't notarize anything else for us.

I'm getting the feeling she doesn't think I'm good enough for her precious son even after 7 years together.

We are getting married on my grandparents anniversary. I didn't expect it to be that busy honestly. I'm hoping she comes around and is just having a bad day.

find a judge or justice of the peace or just wait, if she's already starting drama with it now, it's not worth it to try and talk her into it

Have a friend go online and become ordained and then he/she can marry you. My cousins did it when their brother got married and they officiated.
