Does your LO have health problems/birth defects?? **ETA

I'm curious as to how many members here have a LO with health issues.

My 4 month old son has a heart defect along with heterotaxy syndrome, non functioning spleen, missing a chromosome that deals with his hearing and malrotation of his intestines.
He had open heart surgery at 2 weeks old and will have another next month.

Does anyone else have a LO with problems??

**ETA- in case anyone is interested in his heart defect, I forget the name but he only has a 2 chambered heart.

My daughter had heart surgery at 3 months in China.  She's fine now but we go to a cardiologist for an EKG and Echo every year.  She may need surgery as a teen.

My daughter has an ASD (atrial septal defect, not autism spectrum disorder), a ventral and an umbilical hernia, and she had a few other problems that have resolved (GERD, protein sensitivity, apnea). She was born at 31 weeks.

Good luck with surgery. I'll send positive thoughts & prayers your way.

Fortunately all 3 of my babies are healthy, but I feel for those less fortunate. Hang in there!!

Ds 2 was born with three missing muscles in his tongue. He's 8 and has the vocabulary of a 10 year old but his actual speech sounds like a two year old.

I had two children with birth defects. One had a defect in his urinary tract. The other had heart defects, an anal defect, and an airway defect.
