when did you start putting cereal in your kid(s) bottle? *EDIT FOR THE SLOW MOMS SINCE EVERYONE ESLE IS TRYING TO TELL THEM LOL

I start putting cereal & bananas in my DS milk @ 3 1/2 weeks old. His Doctor suggest that we should if he wasn't getting full and it worked wonders but we only gave him it twice a day. We may do the same with our next if we have another. DS is a year old so another child is out the question for now though

*EDIT: IT'S BABY BANANAS (in a jar lol) 1 TEA SPOON & SAME FOR THE CEREAL (maybe 2 SPOONS FOR THE CEREAL THOUGH :)

Never! Not a good idea. Doctors recommend cereal in the bottles when they are under weight..

With my oldest we were doctor recommended to do it three times a day due to extreme reflux and GERD issues when he was around 5 weeks old. With my youngest he only had cereal from a spoon when he was ready to try solids. It really is outdated advice to give it to them at such a young age to fill them up. Newborns are supposed to eat often.

Bananas? That is a great way to screw the kids digestive system up.

Cereal I can understand. But bananas is overkill.

The only reason I ever put cereal in my sons bottle was to help with his GERD.

I volunteer to save lives; What do you do?

Well for one a 3 week old needs nothing but formula or breast milk, second putting anything but breast milk or formula in a bottle is a huge choking hazard.

3.5 week olds don't eat bananas... their stomachs are too immature and they can get HELLA constipated from it.

You must be slow lol

Never. First of all my kids don't get bottles at all for the first 6-8 weeks minimum. Second, putting anything in a bottle other than breastmilk or formula is a bad idea at any age. And babies should have NOTHING but formula or breastmilk for a minimum of 4-6 months.
