I posted this earlier and it seems it didn't post.
Dd prefers a name other than her first name. Or rather her first name and middle initial. It is what we have ALWAYS called her. The teacher insists on usin first name and last initial. It drives dd crazy because she has never used that. She has been in a class with another Hannah before. She used first name middle initial. This teacher says it is too hard to remember. Dd says it is too hard to remember the new combo and always thinks teacher is talking to other Hannah.
Should dd just adjust? Should Teacher respect DDs wishes? Or something else?
She has always gone by Hannah B. Even if she was the only Hannah. The entire family calls her Hannah B. She has always gone by the name since birth. She is in 4th grade. On her papers she has always written Hannah B last name. Like a Joseph migh go by Joey. She goes by Hannah B. The teacher asked for preferred names. This is what we wrote on her name tag for her desk. It is what every other teacher in the school calls her. Except her classroom teacher. She won't use it because she says it is too hard to remember.
And one detail I realized I didn't mention. DH is adopting dd so her last name is changing before the end of the year as it is. Just waiting on bio to relinquish rights.
