I am in no way a DIYer! I'm more the tomboy type. (So go easy on me)
I have been asked to do it again for another wedding but it was soooo pricey!
Any suggestions on what I can improve on would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest using a better table cloth. It's so plain.

All the tables were plain. I wanted to match her theme. I did have a damask runner on it.
