When it comes to food.
In another group a mom stated that when her son takes food without asking, it's stealing.
I don't get that. Food is not stolen in my house. My son may eat whenever he is hungry and snack whenever he wants as long as it's not excessive. (Like a whole box of granola bars in a day, etc)
Now, it's different when a child takes something he knows he wasn't supposed to have, for instance if you bought a snack, etc for a certain occasion and they take it. That is wrong and stealing.
But just going and snacking when they are hungry? Not stealing in my book. My kitchen is open and if my child wants to eat he is welcome to make himself a snack in between meals.
Like I said the only time I would ever take issue is if he ate something he knew was for someone else/a special occasion or if he snacked excessively like eating a whole loaf of bread a day lol.
