How does it feel when your water breaks???

Although I'm 38 weeks pregnant & this is my 3rd pregnancy, I've never had my water break naturally, before actually going to the hospital. Both times my contractions started at home, we went to the hospital & they broke my water there.

Since I haven't experienced this in the past - I'm wondering will I know if/when it happens this time.

So mommies how did it happen for you?
Was it a little trickle or a huge gush?
Not to be gross but, does it smell like urine or is it odorless?

Thanks :)

Mine woke me up in the middle of the night... it was just a trickle... so I wasn't sure if it was my water or not.. I switched out the laundry before going back to bed, went in the bathroom to put a pantyliner on, then it gushed out. Mine was odorless. You will definitely know if it breaks lol. This was my first, and I just knew.

Mine was a HUGE gush. I had to sit on the toilet for a long time. It was like water balloons kept breaking in my pants.
ETA my fluid was yellow/green cause she pooped in me.

It is different for everyone.  With my 1st baby itfelt like I kept wetting myself when I went to stand up.  It does not smell like urine at all.  It doesn't have a distinct smell that I really remember, but def not like urine.

Mine was just endless moisture. I kept wiping and kept wiping, but kept feeling wetness.

I was 38 weeks and went to the bathroom. I just couldn't stop peeing. Lol. It was a slow trickle for hours and hours.

Well 3 out of 4 babies I had my water break.

All were in the evening in bed so I am happy about that.  It just feels like "severe" spray water running down you leg like it does in the shower but all originating from your crotch.  No pain, just wetness.
