I never buy anything or donate money "for the cure" Do you?

I feel like it's a huge sham. I'd rather donate for the cause, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Do you donate to cure cancer or do you feel as I do that we can already cure it but we don't?

The cure bothers me. They get tons of money to help find a cure. People donate billions a year and they still need more? What about all the other diseases? They havent even made a break through but tons of new stuff with the pink ribbon.

October is domestic violence survivor month. The purple ribbon. Its for that one too?

Quoting mommatothree01:

I hate October simply because they turn every freaking thing pink.  What about turning September GOLD for childhood cancer?  I donate to St. Baldricks, LLS and St Judes when we're able.  Having a childhood cancer survivor, I'm pretty bitter that the kids get crap for funding when breast cancer survivors have such a high survival rate.  DS' cancer has less than a 50% survival rate.  Ok, rant over, but no, I go out of my way to avoid buying pink products in October.
