I am so sorry, your Highness!

My DD takes a snack to school everyday for snack time. I keep a shelf in my pantry stocked full of different types of approved snacks(her school is very picky) so she usually just grabs something on her own. This morning I noticed one item had yet to be opened. I know for a fact she likes this snack so I asked her why she isn't taking that particular snack item. Her response was "Because it's not even the real thing. It's generic"

She has no problem eating generic when she is home but apparently being seen with generic snack items at school is unacceptable.

Oh hell no! That's a problem. Take away all the other snacks so she has no choice but to take the generic. It's the same damn food and this is how it starts. Next thing you know she will be saying she can't wear certain shoes or clothes. This is clearly something she is learning in school and it needs to be nipped in the bud!

I would tell her to get over it or just open it and put it in a ziplock baggie. Then no one will know if it is generic or not. So far my kids have gotten all name brand snacks but that is only because they have been on sale to the point of cheaper than the generic when I have gone shopping.
