Why don't you have one? I mean, I hear so much that it's just a piece of paper with no real value, what is it to you to not have one?
with my marriage my DH gets tricare, housing, military dependant Id, he has been able to speak for me when they lost me at the hospital. No prior consent needed, because he was my DH. He has the legal right to speak up for me when I am not there.
What is so grand about being forever fiances? I don't get it. I understand if you are a gay couple and your state doesn't recognize one for you, that's a legal matter, not a personal choice to be stubborn.
Can you explain the benefits of staying single and living with your boy friend for years? I just don't get it.
ETA: I am beging to see that prior divorce or witnessing A BAD divorce causes a lot of pause in a lot of people. Also, as one mom pointed out, finances are to be considered.
Also,. marriage doesn't make any one more of a family than anyone else. We all know those special people in our lives that we are closer to us than blood kin, so it goes with out saying that partnership can be the same way.
