do you shop at thrift stores?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I went today and got my boys some nice name brand clothes for less than $30. I spent 100$ total (at the buckle & penny's also) and got dh 2 shirts, and a pair of jeans. my oldest 2 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts and my baby a pair of jeans, overalls, sweatpants and a shirt.

I think I got an amazing deal.

eta- my only thrift store buys were a pair of joker brand jeans (with tags) an element shirt (with tags) 2 more longsleeved (old navy) and carters overalls, sweats, and a onsie for baby. It was $23 and some change.

the rest was brand new but I think it was still a good price for everything.

Yes...for books and to find things to do "trash to treasure" with.

I've turned candlesticks and mismatched plates into cake stands, etc......old cool picture frames into serving trays...

This isnt my pic but this is the type of thing I have done...

 (googled pics)

Our thrift store's books are 10 cents a piece so I get a lot of them there.

I'll also get stuff to make halloween costumes at thrift stores.

Heck yeah!! Just the other day I got my 10 mo daughter a pair of overalls, 4 pairs of pants and 5 shirts for 14 dollars at a consignment sale near where I live. She's outgrowing all of her clothes too fast for me to even consider paying full price for anything but shoes and socks.

I love shopping at thrift stores - I do more for myself than anything and I've found some cool decor there.  My husband won't shop there for clothes, though.

this! though sometimes i shop the clearance racks mostly at stores and tends to work out the same, but i dont see paying full price for clothes that i gaurantee my kids will grow out or destroy before i get my moneys worth!

Occasionally we browse one when we go to camp on the other side of the state,we dont have any good thrift stores around here that dont want an arm and a leg for everything. I can just buy new sometimes for what they charge.I always hit up the clearance racks though, esp at Kohls.
