When can I start carving pumpkins?

I want them to look good through Halloween.

If you carve them early and they get shriveled looking, you can dunk them in a bathtub full of cold water and ice. It will perk them back up.

I would love to carve mine. I'm dying to make some toasted pumpkin seeds! The only time of the year I can make them.

Me toooo!! We bought some bigger pumkins this year and will do it a week before Halloween.

We won't do ours until the weekend before Halloween. I've had too many of them go bad on me for carving them too early.

I should do that too, but I'm tempted to buy another pumpkin for the seeds and the "meat" for soup.
