I'm making a 48X54 inches Afghan. For a christmas gift for a secret santa gift. Its completely knitted by hand.

I knit it in 5 panels 215 rows each panel.

The panels themself are perfect. I however suck at sewing things together. You cannot see the seam but they are not even..like instead for example, the white in one panel matching up with the green in the other.

Would you be happy if it wasn't perfect if you were given it as a gift?or should I just ax the whole thing?

I.have all the panels done but I totally fucked up in sewing two of the panels together. . I'm so pissed ..I've been working on.this shit since June. :l

Rip it out and re-stitch.  (and it's easier to join panels w/ a crochet hook)

I would not mind if it was off a bit. It's the thought that counts and I am not picky.

I don't want to rip the knitted stitch. I did that once and totally fucked up a blanket.

How do you do it with a crochet hook? I've always used the mattress stitch.

did you match up the rows before you started stitching them together?  could one of the panels have been upside down, that's why it didn't match?

I would feel really special of someone took that much time to make me something :) The imperfections make it unique and homemade.
