Passed something like a mucous plug but NOT pregnant

The other day I noticed i passed something like a "mucous plug".  I am not pregnant, but have had 3 children and this sure looks like one.  Any idea what it could be?  Not trying to be gross here, just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before.

1 mom liked this

Could be ovulating. The cervix produces a stringy mucous substance that helps the sperm survive and help them swim to the fallopian tubes during the fertile period of the cycle.

I know this is gross but I get mucous discharge when I have a sinus infection. It's like the shit is coming out everywhere!

This. Often when I am ovulating this happens to me.

Possible I guess.  Never had that while ovulating before.  I was a little bigger than a quarter.  Bloody looking.  i had my tubes tied about 10 years ago and I know they say you can still get pregnant with a tubal.
