Confession: I am outraged I have to report for jury duty

A. I will be in the third trimester by then. Being hugely pregnant is NOT a viable excuse.

B. I have a toddler. They don't care about that. It is not permitted to take kids with you to the courthouse.

C. If they make me go BACK in a few months, I'll be nursing a newborn. Breastfeeding is not a viable excuse either. I DO NOT pump! I am a SAHM so I do not need to pump (pumping sucks - anyone who does that regularly gets hugs from me!)

D. My friend who had catastrophic injuries after falling from a great height about a year ago has been called to serve. SHE HAS A FUCKING BACK BRACE and is having surgery on her back *again.* She barely can do anything at this point. O.0 I think anyone with a BACK BRACE who cannot sit for long periods whatsoever should be automatically excused without having to show up. She has a long ass drive to get there.

I think anyone with painful disabilities/long-term injuries should not have to show up. Anyone with under school age kids shouldn't have to serve. Any woman/SAHDad  who has an infant shouldn't have to serve!

FML.

If they do not automatically excuse me due to being pregnant I will force the issue by somehow letting it be known that I am a filthy dirty Canadian socialist that believes in same-sex marriage rights, universal health care, taking care of poor people, free college education and I dunno...I'll come up with something offensive that will make them think I am too biased.

If I didn't have small kids/fetus I would serve, seriously.

Are jury exemptions not the same everywhere? Here (tx) if you have a child under two and you are primary caregiver with no child care-you are exempt and don't even have to show up-just check the form and mail it back in...

If you're a primary caregiver, or breastfeeding, you get excused. My mom gets excused because she's self employed.

No ma'am! The only viable excuse is if you are the primary care giver of someone who is permanently disabled. They don't give a fuck if you have a toddler/infant.

They actually expect you to plunk your infant in a day care you've never even seen before. Seriously?! I SAHM because I don't trust daycares with babies! FACEPALM.

The more I think about it, the madder I get.

It's like that here in CA too, and breastfeeding is a valid exemption.

I asked the OB for one. He said sorry but pregnancy isn't an excuse (if I had a complication it would be an excuse.)

I am going to fucking RAISE HELL if they make me go to the courthouse. Injustice makes me RAGE. I will demand to file some kind of complaint whomever is in charge. Fuckers. Of course, my little complaint won't count for shit.

I'm sure I'll *have* to pee constantly by then.
