Depends on custody. Do you have full or part? We have full custody of my SD so I claim her as a dependant.

I think it depends on the health insurance company. My ds is on dh's insurance and he is his step son.

I know my brother has my step-niece on all his stuff.

She lives with him though, that may make the difference

Most do but my husbands old job refused to cover my children after they were bought out by a bigger corporation.
