Vice President debate

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I thought the debate was terrible, the moderator was a complete idiot and was obviously for Obama. She asked stupid questions about abortion which isn't a main topic, she should been asking questions about the economy. Also Biden was laughing and interrupting nonstop, he completely embarrassed himself. I thought Ryan did good he kept it together. I thought the debate was poorly put together though they shoulda never had that woman be the moderator she was terrible.

You are, because its blatantly obvious you can't prove your point. You can't because like many other things you have no fucking clue what you're debating here. Like I said before you're "campaigning".

LOL @ hypocrisy. There'd only be hypocrisy if I was trying to prove something in the first place. Try to keep up here.
Quoting AdellesMom:

Honey, I'm not deflecting.

You said that I hadn't proved my point--which I had. I was simply pointing out your hypocrisy.

Quoting hautemama83:

Stop deflecting.....

Quoting AdellesMom:

I have proven my point. My point is that if a state takes away abortion, the people won't have that choice in that state. It's not my fault that you're too inept to follow along.

Saying "shit happens" answers plenty. It's the truth--shit happens. Things happen that people cannot control.

You haven't proven anything yourself. So, pot meet kettle.

Quoting hautemama83:

You're right it is entertaining, because you can't prove your point. You have yet to prove any point for that matter. Saying shit happens, doesn't answer anything. Its just your way of "answering" half assed.

Quoting AdellesMom:

...because public transportation doesn't exist in some areas! *Sarcasm*

Shit happens. I was trying to make it clear. I was trying to make it easy for you to understand. I'm not talking out of my ass and I have made my point. I've made it on more than one occasion. You just disagree--that's fine. I don't care.

Like what? Like tragedies. It's not feasible because it's wrong to expect someone to live the way you think they should live. I've already stated this.

This is thoroughly entertaining.

Quoting hautemama83:

LOL if they don't have transportation how are the going to get to any clinic, in their state or not? You keep saying "shit happens" so like what? Quit talking out of your ass and prove your point.

Quoting AdellesMom:

I answered your question. Why? Because shit happens--just like I stated earlier. People don't have transportation...anything is possible.

Uhmm...yes, there's a way to know. It's the Bible Belt--red states with ass backwards views. Really?

Quoting hautemama83:

But why is it a big deal? That's the question. Why wouldn't it be feasible?

You're basing your argument here on an assumption. There's no way any of us know whether or not other states would follow suit.

Quoting AdellesMom:

There's plenty lax in your understanding. No, I'm not "campaigning."

You're saying that the choice won't e taken away if one state outlaws abortion. My point is that the choice would be taken away for the residents of that state. You're arguing on a technicality. Technically, the choice wouldn't be taken away because they could go somewhere else. That's a weak argument.

Why is that argument weak? Well, the choice has still been taken away for the residents of that state--which is the point.

To answer your question: shit happens. It's not feasible for someone to drive across the country (the only reason I said "drive across the country" is because MS is in the Bible Belt and the other states in the belt would likely follow suit) for an abortion. Shit happens.

It's erroneous to think that you should have a say in someone else's life because of your personal beliefs.

Going elsewhere may not be a big deal to you. But, it very likely is a big deal for someone else.

Quoting hautemama83:

There's nothing lax about my understanding. You're simply to busy "campaigning" to see my point. But with that said, why would having to go elsewhere be a huge deal?

Its not.

Quoting AdellesMom:

*Facepalm*

You have reading comprehension issues. I'm saying that if one state outlaws abortion, it takes away choice in that state. Why can't you understand that? If all 50 states outlawed abortion, the choice would be taken away in all 50 states.

No, my argument isn't weak. You're lax in your understanding.

Quoting hautemama83:

Because ultimately the choice is still there. No one is saying one would have to drive across the country to obtain an abortion, but the melodramatics are entertaining. Yes your argument is weak. Very weak in fact. One state allowing the legality of abortion go to vote and possibly be outlawed, does not take away the choice everywhere.
Quoting AdellesMom:

LOL! My argument isn't weak. You can disagree. But, that doesn't make my argument weak. Nice try at fallacious logic.

I'm not arguing just for myself, I'm arguing for everyone. If Mississippi decided to make abortion illegal (if Romney got his way) then that choice would be taken away from the residents of Mississippi. You're being illogical here.

I mean, who's going to drive all the way across the country for an abortion? Certainly don't know anyone that would, and I think that it's erroneous and just plain dumb to think that it's not feasible to have someone drive across Te country for an abortion.

So, the choice wouldn't be there if Mississippi decided to make abortion illegal. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Quoting hautemama83:

It takes away *the* choice (since you don't plan on abortion) for who? What's stopping individuals from going elsewhere? Nothing. The choice is still there. Your pro-choice argument is weak.

Quoting AdellesMom:

I'm not pregnant. So, no. lol

Outlawing it does take away my choice. That's the truth. Plus, forcing people to do something they don't want to do never works out well.

Quoting hautemama83:

You plan on aborting?

Outlawing it in one state doesn't take away your choice. The choice is still there, just less accessible.

Quoting AdellesMom:

Because no one should have a say over what I do with my body.

Quoting hautemama83:

Why is that unacceptable?

Quoting AdellesMom:

He wants to overturn it. If it becomes a "voter issue" it's at risk of being outlawed in some states. That's unacceptable.

Quoting hautemama83:

So in other words it should be a voter issue. What's wrong with that?

Quoting AdellesMom:

" But while the nation remains so divided, he believes that the right next step is for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade – a case of blatant judicial activism that took a decision that should be left to the people and placed it in the hands of unelected judges. "

http://www.mittromney.com/issues/values

Quoting hautemama83:

Link it

Quoting AdellesMom:

That's not true. Romney's website says that they'd overturn it, and Ryan said that they'd overturn it if they could last night.

Quoting hautemama83:

They've already said they wouldn't. But aside from that to you honestly believe roe v wade would be turned over after standing for years? What would be the basis for overturning it?
Quoting Sunshinebee0502:

I'm just curious why do you think they couldn't overturn Roe v. Wade?

Quoting Anonymous:

Abortions are not an issue!!!! They would have a snowballs chance in hell overturning Roe v. Wade. I enjoyed the debate it was lively and much better than the presidental debate.

I'm shocked that this is coming from her. I mean, I knew that she wasn't an Obama supporter--I didn't care. But, to vehemently and blatantly personally attack me because I have differing views, failing to produce anything, and taking what I said personally struck me as odd.

Oh well. Many people are full of surprises.

Quoting T-HoneyLuv:

Thats how she is, you are wasting your breath. She is a " Fetus Fetishist " and will blindly follow R-Money like the rest of the simple minded Rombots. So sad. :(

Quoting AdellesMom:

LMMFAO!!

But I'm the one that needs to do fact checking?

The Hyde Amendment prevents federal funds from paying for abortions. Obamacare doesn't pay for abortion.

I'm not forcing people to do anything. I don't agree with Obamacare 100%.

How nice of you to ASSume that.

Be done with me all you want. I don't give a shit. I think that you're letting your hormones get the best of you and it's preventing you from thinking clearly. Your personal struggles have NOTHING to do with this discussion. You're taking this personally. That isn't my problem.

I'm not a double minded, closed minded (LMFAO @ the irony), selfish, idiotic liberal.

How Christian of you to name call and to be a bitch.

Quoting Apollos82:

AdellesMom, you specifically just said "It's wrong to expect someone to live the way you think they should live." And yet you are doing the same thing! You are asking, by agreeing with Obamacare, for me to be okay with my tax money going towards abortion. I am not okay with my tax money paying for the death of unborn children. I will never be okay with it, after 2.5 years of trying to have my own child. How DARE you be so hypocritical? I am done with you. You are a double-minded, backwards, close minded, selfish, idiotic liberal and I want nothing more to do with you or people like you.

PRETTY MUCH! I think it's comical that I am suppose to be upset because Biden was rude because I know I damn sure would have been. I think it's hilarious that people sit here and try to defend a group that their leader sat in a room eating a plate that cost as much as I made my first year out of college and basically summed up half a country that he wants to be president of as lazy. I think it's disgusting that they sit there and say things about making this country better and helping people when everything they stand for is to make damn sure it doesn't. And then I get to hear people sit there and complain out president because of "Obamacare" who exactly do you think pays for people without insurance now? YOU DO! when these people go "in an ambulance" we pay for it and your other option is to literally watch people die in the streets. I stand by and am proud of President Obama and if I couldn't figure out what the difference was between these two men now all I would have to look at is their past. Obama's entire life has deticated to the people. He became a success and who he is without screwing over everyone on his way there and that speaks volumes to me. Romney is successful and good for him but it isn't the kind of success I want for me or my children.

Quoting CharlieSays:

Yet when Romney did the exact same condescending, interrupting of Obama, he "swept the floor with Obama"? But Biden comes in prepared and he's the rude one? You republicans just can't stop flip flopping can you.

Quoting Ann7227:

Biden was an ass. He was the poor loser. Not Ryan not republicans. He came across as a rude old grumpy man.  If he represents democrats your in trouble. If he wasn't so rude he may have won some brownie points.

Quoting AdellesMom:

I love how Biden is a "mumbling jackass" even in a moment of strength.

Republicans are sore losers. ;)

LMFAO @ the irony.

Child, I know that I quoted you. The point--since it obviously went over your head--is that you posted a comment in a public forum. If you weren't trying to prove a point, why'd you post anything at all? Derp.

I don't lack experience and knowledge on this topic. My point--which I have proven--is that a state banning abortion takes away the choice of the individual in that state. You were the on arguing on a technicality. When I debunked your technicality, you began telling me that I failed to prove my point. You said that my argument was weak because you weren't understanding my point. When I explained it again, you had nothing to say other than "you haven't proved your point."

If I had failed to prove my point, you'd reply with something of substance to prove that I haven't proved my point. But, you've failed to prove the point that you brought up saying that I haven't proved my point.

Also, if you think that this is my pro choice argument, you're sadly mistaken. I wrote about this in college, received an "A," and a nod for outstanding work from my Dean.

I'm not the one spewing bullshit.

Just so we're clear, I was never arguing to try to sway anyone. I simply quoted you telling you that you were wrong about R&R's stance on abortion--which is sad considering that you support them so.

I have debated this topic very strongly in the past and I've won. I do admit that I'm not on my p's and q's today because I have a lot going on.

JSYK: failure is subjective. I have proved my point.

And more overdrawn dribble. If you honestly think I'm going to read through all that nonsensical BS you keep running in circles with, you're delusional.

But perhaps you need to brush up on your English. Replying is not synonymous with needing, or wanting to prove a point.

Furthermore you do indeed lack experience. Let me ask you this - aside from sitting on your ass running your "know it all" mouth what have you done for women's rights or better yet pro-choice? I've been helping, debating and utilizing this shit since before you even knew where babies came from. So save me the "I won" crap.

If this thread is your example of what you know, all you've proven is how little that is.
