Can someone PLEASE tell me a VALID reason why you care what label someone puts on someone else?

Husband/Wife

Son/Daughter

Mom/Dad

Who CARES???

Why does it matter?

It doesn't or at the very least it should not to anyone other than the immediate people involved ie the one calling the name and the one being called the name.
