I forgot to pick up my pills on Sunday. I finally got them today and took Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday's pills tonight.
Is that going to mess up everything?

Possibly. It's been a long time since I've been on the pill, so I don't remember a ton about how it works, but I would think it might mess up your next period, since you started the pack late.
Quoting Anonymous:

I only take it to control my flow. We can use condoms, I just had a baby so it's too soon for me anyway. I just wonder if it screws up my flow or time it comes?

Quoting PinkieRed:

Absolutely! I got pregnant with my daughter when I stupidly missed a pill, and didn't use backup. I didn't think one pill would matter. Well, it did. My daughter is 14 now. Use some backup, OP, like an OTC spermicide and/or condoms.

How? Period wise?

Quoting Dabberdoo:

Yes, its going to mess things up.

With having just had your period, not sure if that will mess things up or not.  But you need to use a back up method for conception.  Your body needs a constant, steady, same time of day, supply of the hormones from the pills or you have a higher failure rate from the pills.  You can not miss even one pill to get maximum protection, you SHOULD be taking the pills the same time of day every day.

yes, the ablation worked but I did have to have 2 since first one was a failure - Best was the saline while I was asleep in the operating room. I also have had terrible periods always!!! Worse bleeding after I had tubal also DH had vas so we were double protected. Took about 2 years or so for my periods to stop and there was monthy pain since my body could not get enough blood to menstrate I have not had one for over a year. I am 48. I also never had luck with pills mostly because I struggled with fertility and pretty much anytime I could get pregnant was good also not organized enough to take 1 pill daily lol

Quoting PinkieRed:

Did the ablation work for you? What kind did you have? I'm tempted to have it done.

I am also done having kids (my husband had a vasectomy 5 years ago), and my periods are incredibly long and unbelievably heavy. They last for two weeks every month, and every now and then, I'll get my period twice in one month. They've been heavy since I was a teenager, but never this bad. They're also incredibly painful anymore.

I took birth control pills off and for about 15 years, and they helped control it a lot, but I don't want to start back on the pill, as I don't need it to prevent pregnancy, and I don't know if they'd be a good idea at my age - I'm almost 40. Plus, the last time I took the pill, 5 years ago, I had bad side effects, for the first time ever, and I don't want to deal with that again.
Quoting mom2priceboys:

March?? Almost time for another one LOL

I hear ya on the heavy flow - pills never worked for me finally had an endometrial ablation but I was done having kids - however, use condoms for a month when you are active and maybe a spermacide cream or another instant form of BC becasue your body might be craving getting pregnant again.

Quoting Anonymous:

Oh god I would never do that. I haven't been on pills since I was younger and I am only on them to control my horrendously heavy flow. Eww. I just had a baby in march so I am def not one of those "do you think I'm preg" chicks! Haha! Trust me, I feel stupid.

Oh wow, now I'm not so sure if I want to have one. Two years for it to help with your periods, and then having to have a second one, too?!
