Best tablet for an 8 year old and an almost 3 year old

I am getting my boys tablets for Christmas this year because I am tired of sharing my ipad.  Any suggestions?  I was looking into the Meep and Tabeo ones, but they both have terrible reviews.  I was seriously considering 2 Kindle Fires, would those be ok for kids?

Nevermind, I won't be paying $329 for a tablet for each of them.  I am topping out at $200 each.

I ended up buying two of the Tabeos from Toysrus last night.  Hopefully they will love them!

a cheap one. my kids are always losing ours or bumping it around. i'm glad we didn't spend a lot of money on it cause they just use it for kindle books and a couple games. i don't have any real good advice though i guess. i'm not against kids using things like that, i just personally wouldn't spend a ton of money on them for those ages.

I see this now... LOL...

I think you should turn in one for a fire, just my opinion, but at 8 he is going to be outgrowing a "baby" tablet really soon and unless you plan on upgrading within a year or two it would be worth it to buy the adult version and just password the crap out of it.

enh... cancel that... I guess the tabeo is a lot less baby than I imagined
