i think part of a MOMs job should be... *edit*

To take care of her own body. Sure, cleaning, cooking, playing, and all that is a
part of the job, but your own health should be at or near the top of the list.

I don't buy ANYONE'S reasoning of "I don't have time to exercise or eat right" as an excuse, but especially SAHMs. You should be able to carve time to focus on your body throughout the day, or incorporate it into your lifestyle with ease.

*of course, barring TRUE medical conditions...many of which can be reversed or at least maintained through a raw food diet*

ETA - this obviously should apply to everyone, not just SAHMs, as the original title said... it's just that I see the "I don't have time" line most often from SAHMs. I promise if you have time to do everything else, you have time to treat and fuel your body correctly.

I think all moms should focus on themselves and quit judging what other moms are or are not doing.

You are a great example for everyone else! It's never easy to get to where you want to be after losing yourself a bit, but once you get there it's easy to maintain and continue the healthy lifestyle. Agreed?

I'm proud of you!

Plus side - majorty of American's are overweight, so there is no need to single out a group. Just go for the gold and say "As humans, we should place part of our focus on maintaining a healthy diet, healthy level of physical activity and exercise".

Sold.

No special diet required. We all know what is healthy - many people just don't know what or HOW unhealthy many foods are.....I feel my rant coming on so I will stop.
