Did you run a background check on your significant other?
I mentioned this in another thread and many people thought it was strange, so I thought it would be a good topic.
Before getting serious with your significant other, and definitely before marriage, did you run a background check on your significant other? What about a credit check? If not, why not?

No - I got to know him through dating - not background checks.

I didn't run a check on him. He had done prison time before I met him and was open and honest about it right from the start. I did look him up on our state's registry though to make sure he was telling me the truth and he was. This was before I had kids. Now, I would definitely run one before getting involved with someone else if SO and I were to split.
He ran one on me, but he had a toddler to look out for and I completely understood

I run a...
"Daddy Check".....
And/or a background check. Usually the background check isn't necessary.
