When does your elf appear??

My sister bought the elf on the shelf last year for my DS and had it delivered to my house. DS loved Buddy our elf.

Since my sister had it delivered I didn't really have an option of when he would appear. But this year I do.

So my question is, when should he appear?

I was thinking either the dy after Thanksgiving or Decmeber 1st.

My kids LOVE it...they named their elf Zoe and he also has a magical mouse as his friend...they wake up every morning to see what Zoe has gotten into...

Here are some of the things Zoe got "caught" doing...He got into the candy dish..ate the candy....pulled out the kids undies...hung them on the tree....lol  they loved that one.....he got in the pink Barbie car.....he had barbie beside of him...he hangs from the celing fan....lol

So much fun for the kids...and parents too!  Trying to come up with funny stuff for the elf to do.....

I was thinking after thanksgiving.. I will arrive home the Sunday after thanksgiving.. My 2 older boys are staying at hunting camp until Tuesday night so I was going to put it out when I get home..

 our elf "STiNKY" yes stinky - she was 2 .. appears the day after thanksgiving .. SHOOOO if it was up to me he would be around ALL YEAR LONG!

The day after Thanksgiving. But this year we'll be spending our Thanksgiving away from civilization in a cabin, so it'll stay at home and the girls will see Chippy when we come back..

I've seen and heard of people getting elves from the dollar store or other places for cheaper. It's not the elf on the self band but same concept. Your kids won't know the difference. Then you can either print out the story on pretty paper or make your own book.

You could probably do it better that way becuase you could make your own rules.

Trust me I understand money being tight.
