How much does it cost for thanksgiving dinner?

I've never hosted, so I'm just curious.

depends on for how many, what you plan on serving and what others might be bringing.

Plan on at least $15 for the turkey, a bag of potatoes $2, some butter, $3 misc stuff to make gravy, another $2, stuffing $5, green beans or veg for 6 $5, pies, $5 oh and rolls $2

I spend around $50 and make most everything from scratch. My parents are cooking for us this year so I will be spending nothing! ;)
ETA: 5 adults, 1 toddler.

If it is just hubby, me and the kids, then it costs around $50. If we go to my grandparents, one of my aunts sends out an email and we all sign up to bring desserts or other sides.  My grandparents and one of my uncles take care of the turkey and ham.

I'll be cooking for about 12-15 people this year and I estimate it will cost roughly $200. But I make some pretty elaborate stuff, all from scratch

I spent $7 on a hen, $2 on potatoes, $2 on stuffing, I already have stuff for gravy and that. Then canned veggies. I may make some jello (already have that), and maybe brownies for dessert.

Way too much. I usually end up spending a few hundred dollars to host everyone. No one helps me or appreciates it so I'm not hosting anymore.
