pack up everything and move to a new place just to be with someone you met online? I have a "friend" that did this and despite the man's claims that he could support her and take care of her and be everything she ever wanted, turned out he was living in his mom's basement and is broke as hell. My "friend" left her husband for this guy!

I hope her love was worth it. I packed up and moved cross country at 19 by myself with $500 in my pocket. But I don't think I'd go for someone online

I don't know. I met DH in a bar and a week later I lived with his family. 13 yrs later....

No, I would never do that. She is so foolish. But then again, this guy could have been the world's greatest con man. Some people are able to make others believe anything by twisting their words in such crazy ways.

I did this.
I met my SO online. "Dated" online for about 4 months, then we met, he stayed with me for 2 weeks. He went home, 2 days later he bought my plane ticket and 12 days after that I flew to Nova Scotia where he lived and have been here ever since. 6 years and counting. It was the best decision I ever made and I have never been happier :)
