my 3 year old found a grass snake yesterday and came and handed it to me. I freaked out even though I knew it wasn't poisonous. He was so proud of himself.

Quoting MommySally:
We use to have gardener snakes all over where we lived when I was a kid. I would bring a handfull home and put them in my toy box. Lmao my mom would flip, but I adore snakes.
i'm not scared of them exactly, but here in tn we have a lot of copperheads and I'm afraid he won't be able to tell the difference and might pick one up and get bit

I once accepted a handful of chewed up grass hoppers from a child at the daycare center I worked at. It's just natural to accept what they are handing to you and then look. I nearly threw up and had to try hard not to freak out. His mom says she find bugs in his pockets and diapers all the time.

Lol we actually have poisonous snakes in this area so we teach our kids to stay away from them and get an adult if they see one.

Fearless! I was the same way :) as long as there are no venomous ones in your area, that's a good way to be :)
