Confession: I work minimum wage jobs because...

I find them interesting. I've never done it because I needed money. It actually kind of sucks, because I'll never know what most people are going through. Im a trust fund baby and so is my husband. I went to college because I had nothing better to do. I will get these jobs and work until
I'm bored then move on. Being a SAHM is okay but there just has to be more to life than being the royal buttwiper.

I had work minimum wage jobs for a year (housekeeping, fast food joints, shop attendance, etc) to research on my Thesis.
I was studying industrial anthropology.

Your writing is better than 99% of cafemom users.

If I could write worth a damn I'd have plenty to expose.

Actually you're wrong. I've thought of writing a book like Barbara Eihrenreich(sp), who does exactly what I'm doing for the purpose of exposing corrupt practices and unlivable wages. Im just not political enough. It feels like im working on a tv show or something.

Quoting mamakat070812:

Lol. Nobody works minimum wage jobs because they find them interesting. Im smelling some rotten bologna.

Then she's not doing it just because she finds them interesting.

She's doing it to expose corruption and poor treatment.

I don't think it's sad at all. You aren't sitting around your house doing nothing, you're experiencing what's out there and that's pretty cool.

Quoting Anonymous:

Im very lucky in that regard but it is sad this is my hobby.

Quoting BeAuTiFuL.BLiSs:

Alrighty.

I can think of much more interesting shit to do with my time, if I had no money worries.

I guess consider yourself lucky that you do it for fun, and not truly trying to support yourself and kids.

I worked with a well off woman at a retail store. She worked there to have something to do. It happens.

Why don't you start some sort of hobby? There are so many different INTERESTING crafting hobbies that get you involved with people and you could make some money from it.

If I were in your position, I could think of a million things to do. You said it yourself, it's because you have no dreams or aspirations. There's nothing wrong with that but you should be honest with yourself instead of saying it's because these jobs are so convenient and interesting.

Why don't you volunteer instead of taking a job from someone who could actually use the money? Where did you go to school?

That frightens me if it's true.
