What most people don’t know, however, is that Koko was an avid Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood fan. When Fred Rogers took a trip out to meet Koko for his show, not only did she immediately wrap her arms around him and embrace him, she did what she’d always seen him do onscreen: she proceeded to take his shoes off.

Not all that different imo.

Koko's language skills were debunked long ago.   What she learned did not really have most of the characteristics of language.   No doubt though, that gorillas are very intelligent and seeing mr Rogers take his shoes off and taking his shoes off is very clever.

Intellect, civilization, and the ability to actively create, rather than copying what another animal has done.

Do you see the question mark in my original post? I never claimed I was giving a researched answer. It was a question, hence the question mark. I am not really invested in this discussion enough to give a fuck either way.
