Do you refer your parents as mom and dad or by their first names now that you are an adult?
I am asking because my boss (64 years old) refers to his late father by his name rather than referring him as "dad". I just find it odd because everyone knows who his dad is (his dad started the company, and the company is his dad's name).
I call my mom, mom. I call my dad, dad. How about you?
I thought that at first too. But he even refers to him by name when talking to his brother or kids... it's weird. And Idk how their relationship was, but it can't be too bad since his dad made him president of the company... lol
Quoting LizzieAnnesMom:They are mom and dad.
Maybe they didnt have that close of a relationship? Or maybe he just does it at work so people know who he is talking about with no further explination.
Quoting workingmama86:jokingly? lol

Well, whatever works for you! :)
Quoting Paiute773:I call my parents and step-parents all by their first names, only because I was traumatized by their divorce, I swore they were not my parents anymore..LOL. My son calls me by name, when he says, Mom, it sounds funny - and we both agree that it doez.
awe I'm so sorry! :(
Quoting LoveMyLos:
Nope....moms a cunt and dads a balless asshole. I cant wait for my mother to fall off the face of the earth.

Mom or Mommy, Dad or Daddy, bonus (step mom) is either Nana or Mama. I am 28.
My husband still refers to his father as "Dad" and his late mother as "Mommy"; his grandmother (who helped raise him after his mother passed) is "Mom Mom". My husband is 43.
I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Academic pushing Mother. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosey, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it raising my child. I believe that my place, as a woman, is in the home caring for my husband and children. My husband is head of our home.
