Why are you against it? Why do you try to push your parenting beliefs down others throats? Just curious. Shouldn't you just mind your own business since it isn't your kid and the parent is choosing to discipline how THEY want to with THEIR kids?
Well, if they post it on cafemom they're obviously looking for attention or a second opinion....otherwise why not keep it to yourself if you don't want someone else's opinion? It's a controversial topic...people who don't agree will have something to say about it.
I am against it because I believe people shouldn't hit other people regardless of age. I don't push it down other people's throats but if someone asks for alternatives, I try to give them some. Why should we care how other people raise their kids (to an extent anyway)????...Because we don't live in a bubble and how other people are raised can someday affect my family as well as others. I would prefer a more gentle and compassionate society. Not one that uses physical violence to solve problems.

Keep it to myself? I'm just curious as to why mom's who don't agree with spanking try to push their parenting style down others' throats.... I sure don't push my parenting style on ANYONE :)
