REMEMBER.. THIS IS FOR THE WORST MEMORIES OF THANKSGIVING!
I can't say I've ever had a bad Thanksgiving. Though, one year my aunt accidentally made pumpkin pie with salt instead of sugar...
The year that my parents decided that they just didn't care about Thanksgiving anymore. They just treat it like any other day now. I have no idea what happened, but Thanksgivings aren't the same anymore. I host it now, and they always stop by to eat but they just act like they hate the holiday anymore and it just kills the happiness of the day.
My mom had surgery November 16, 1995 for cancer. The thanksgiving that year she decided she needed to go to work to check on things (general manager of a buffet) and my dad got mad at her and told her he wishes she had just died on the operating table.
Quoting sara_3388:Having to come home from the hospital with out my baby because she passed away. Having to go about making a nice dinner for my other children. This year thanksgiving is on her birth/death date and I'm having a really hard time doing anything at all.
My DS threw up all over my MIL's table just as we were all sitting down to eat leftovers for supper.
The one and only year my mom went on a crack binge for a holiday and wasn't there. We tried to finish it ourselves. It was pretty funny. The kids cooking part.
I forgot about the the Tgving SIL played PORN AUDIO on her phone, right there at the table with the inlaws. Everyone was so fucking uncomrtable. Fuck. I was sitting next to my FIL!
The worst was probably last year. My BIL got into an accident about a month before and was suffering from memory loss. MIL didn't want him to realize how long he had been in the hospital and thought he wouldn't remember what day it was anyway. So no one told him it was Thanksgiving, but we were all at the hospital visiting him. Someone mentioned everyone going to MIL's house to eat. BIL started asking questions about why we were all getting together and he was heart broken when he realized it was Thanksgiving! I felt so horrible. Thankfully he was realeased before Christmas.
