I am a mean mom

My 10yo smacked his 11yo brother on the rear so I am making him stand in a corner with his arms out and a marker between his fingers and everytime he drops it he starts all over again.

That's weird..why did you chose that punishment?

Because, He used his hands on his brother, so what better punishment than to have him hold something between two fingers.Maybe now he will remember to keep his hands to himself.

We give my 8yo a quarter and make him hold it in the corner with his nose. He says we are mean, but he wouldn't have to worry about it if he would just stay out of trouble

Nothing like setting him up for failure.  Awful punishment, imo.

That'll teach him to hold a marker.

That sounds like it will work.  Next time, he will think twice.  I like it.
