Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever lived in a house you thought was haunted?

We lived in this place for 4 years.

It's set up
Into apartments, we lived in the first door you see on the right.

It was 2 bedrooms, one bath, with an old claw foot tub. And part of a basement.

I swear It was haunted.

After we moved out, I looked into the houses history. I figured it was Old since there was an old, broken, rusty water pump right next to our back door.

It was built in the Mid 1800's the entire property around it use to be one huge farm, and that building is the only original building left standing.

The inside was remodeled in the late 1900's to section it off into apartments, and mess with plumbing and electricity.

But the building was originally the slave's quarters.

The house a little ways down us where the family who owned the farm lived, the original house was torn down a long time a ago and a new house was built.

So am I the only one who has lived in a place that I thought was haunted?

If You wanna know Some of the things that made me believe that just ask
And I'll add it up here.

Edit:ok so since someone wanted me to add this:

I got a weird feeling from the house in the first place. But I dismissed it, it was a new town and I chalked my feeling up to being nervouse about the move.

We were told we could repaint the apartment since the walls were badly stained.

The first day I was painting I kept losing my paint roller. I would leave it on the counter and find in the paint or on the stairs.

I thought I was just tired and our of it so I went back to the motel for the night.

When we moved in a week later the basement still needed cleaned. I went down there to clean up the floor and walls (they were stained from leaks and spills.) the landlord said if we cleaned them to take before and after pictures and he would reimburse us for doing it.

So I was down there taking pictures.
I heard a crash and looked behind me. A few stray bricks had fallen out of the wall. I didn't think anything of it since the house was so old.

So I continued taking the pictures, I got to the last wall, and I swear a saw someone standing there. Pulled a flash lift out to see better but no one was there.

So I statue to take the pictures and through the lense I though a saw a mans face. He face was bony, like he was underweight or starving, with big angry eyes.

But when I put the lense down I didn't see him.

I was hoping it would show up on the pictures...it didn't . I though I had really lost it.

Couple months went by
My brother had autism.

At the time we lived there he didn't go to school.

He didn't watch tv.

He mostly just rocked on his rocking horse.

We found him sitting in the middle of the room one night
Playing "patty cakes" with the air.

He was singing the song. But no one had taught it to him, at first u though he must've just heard it at the store, doctors office or maybe tv.

But I swear I heard a girls voice singing softly under his.

We found him doing that alot.

About a month after the first time, I was in the living room, and I thought I saw my daughter in the TVs reflection, looked like she was sitting on the couch.

I turned around. And she wasn't there.
That was when I started hearing sounds in the living room. DH swore it was just from the tv shorting out and that I was paranoid.

I heard lots of noises, saw a lot of things out of the corner of my eyes, and saw a lot of shadows under doors.

Then there was DDs "imaginary friend". She said his name was Joshua, that he was a big kid (by that she meant like a teenager) and that he said he use to live there and that he would show her all the kid hiding places for hide and seek.

I thought is was odd but she was at that age so we dismissed it.

DH didn't believe me.
Until one day, I heard him fall
Down the stairs. I asked Hume if he was ok, and he said that one of the kids pushed him
On the knee when they ran by and it made him fall.
I told him that the DD was still at school and my brother was taking a nap in the living room.

He swore up and down that he saw someone and that it was DD. we started to argue about it, then DDs bus pulled up. He believed me after that.

But we couldn't afford to move.

I started hearing a lot more noises. Especially late at night.

I would hear little kids laughing and clapping and signing.

Foot steps.

Things
were randomly falling off of shelfs and counters.

Wow.

We had a closet with a hidden room in the closet. Didn't notice at first because of the wallpaper in the closet but I saw the little handle one day.

It was small. I could lay or sit in it.
The kids could could all
Sit in there and the smaller ones could stand.

Yes and yes. When I was 2 years old we lived in an old plantation house in Wichita, Kansas that had been converted into a duplex. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and as I sat on the toilet I felt like I was being watched. I looked over and standing there was a man in a purple and black pinstripe suit with a revolver at his waist. I ran screaming out of the bathroom. My mom said she heard me and met me half way down the hall. I told her what had happened and she quickly searched the house. She didn't find anyone. About a month later she was cleaning under the kitchen sink when she saw that the back wall was a false wall. She pushed it open and inside tacked to the wall was and old quilt and the pinstripe suit. She said when she touched the quilt it crumbled. The false wall was hiding a secret sleeping space. When I was six my mom told my grandpa what had happened. He pulled out a western book and told me he was going to flip through it and if I saw the man to stop him. I stopped him on a picture of a man in a pinstripe suit with a revolver at his waist. It was a picture of Wyatt Earp.

Sure do. My daughter and I are followed to every house/apartment we live in. I've always lived with it so I'm used to it.

Lol I'm always
Watching shows like paranormal witness and shows like that. It's creepy but fascinating.

I fully believe in ghosts/the paranormal. I wanted to join a paranormal investigation team but dh said absolutely not. He thinks I'm morbid (and believes there is some reason I was born on Halloween when my mom was due on October 3).

I don't think we've ever lived in a haunted house, but I do believe my great grandfather's ghost came to visit me one night. It was shortly after ds was born and I had a dream about my grandpa. He was holding my ds and kept telling me how perfect he was and that he was glad he got to see him. I woke up in tears and smelled smoke, looked towards our bedroom door and there was a shadow of a man right there. I truly believe it was my grandpa. He died when dd was only 13 days old. He had been waiting for me to go into labor for weeks. Any time I would go visit him in the ICU, he would ask me if I felt like I was going to go into labor soon. It was almost like he held on long enough to see her.

ooohhhhh i have a few and they have all happened to me personally. i am a huge believer in the paranormal, always have been. my first was when i was 15, my parents went out and i was home alone, the attic door was in my bedroom and i had a huge oak vanity in front of the door that was super heavy. so anyways, i was sitting in my room reading and my dog was on the bed and he started growling at the attic door, my dog was a dumbass so i didnt pay attention to it at first, he got off the bed and was showing his teeth to the door and then i heard someone walking down the attic stairs and stopped right at the door. i flew downstairs and called my neighbor who came over with a shotgun (gun vs ghost, yeah ok lol) and looked up there and nothing was there. a few years later a bunch of my friends and i broke into an old pysch hospital and i had my hair pulled while i was by myself in a padded room (those are AWESOME!), fast forward a few years, my husbands mothers house was always rumored to be crazy haunted and i was pregnant with my daughter, dh went into the bathroom, my son was in the living room and my mil and i were sitting in her diningroom, we say what looked like DH walk right past us and out the door. i opened the door and asked where he was going and he was standing behind me wondering who i was talking to, but it was plain as day and looked JUST like him and last year i was sweeping my upstairs hallway and i was home alone as i bent to sweep the dust into the pan, i felt a hand on my back and thought it was dh, there was nobody there. those were mine lol and i still have a few places that i want to investigate myself.

A lot of spaces like that were put in to hide on the run slaves. Since we lived in an old plantation house that's probably what it was.
