I Stand Outside Abortion Clinics

I live near an abortion clinic. When I drove or walked past I'd see these women rushing past make-shift-altars, holy candle, religious pictures and strangers asking them not to murder their unborn babies. One day when I was walking past with my baby I finally asked this protestor to stop. Calling these women murderers and terrible people is not helping. It occurred to me that saying, "hi, how are you doing today and good luck would be better than screaming.
I stand outside clinics and offer support to these women. What led them there is none of my business unless they want to share. A lot of these women I've encountered -- sometimes with their boyfriends, are grateful for someone to look them in the eye and say, I support you. I've had some women tell me that they are not sure if this is what they want. Since I'm not there to talk them in or out of anything, I listen. The religious people dislike me and stand far away from me. They have even asked me to leave, but I can't because God does not condemn anyone and neither should they.
That's a WAY better approach than standing somewhere berating people who you don't know who have stories you can't fathom.
