Get a puppy then get rid of it before you have had it a month? Well I got a puppy 3 weeks ago. He's a poodle and shitzu mix. I love him. We have a 5 year old and a two year old. The 2 year old keeps getting bit because he picks it up by the neck or plays too rough with him. The dog is still a puppy we can teach him not to bite but my husband wants him gone. He has hated the dog since we got him before he even began biting. Idk what to do. Would you give the dog away?
My 5 year old would be the most hurt if we got rid of him. He is her best friend

Probably. It doesnt sound like the dog is the problem, but your 2 year old is. Are you correcting how he interacts with the dog at all?

It isn't your dogs fault that he is being harassed. If your kids can't treat it right, get rid of it.

You need to train the kid not the dog. Sheesh.

You are doing the dog a favor by giving it away. Preferably to a family without small children.

I agree with the other posters here, you need to teach your two year old how to properly treat an animal.

I think it's wrong to get a puppy with a toddler in the house.

I mean, it seems like your 2-year-old keeps bothering it. If you can't teach him how to properly handle the dog then yeah, find a better home for it.

I would teach my child to knock it off.
