For public urination and is fired. The three yr old was in the front yard of the families 2.5 acre private home with a teenager..when the teenager allowed the boy to drop his pants to pee. The officer said he didnt care if they were on their own property or that the boy was a potty training toddler. He said he could see it so he issued the ticket. After the family refused to pay the ticket and went forward the 18 yr veteran officer was fired. What are your thoughts?

While the ticket was stupid and should have been fought....the cop shouldn't have been fired for it.

he was out of line.  I'm glad they don't have to pay the fine.

The cop should have been given a warning, but man that's a stupid ticket even if they weren't in private property.

Yes he should have. That's a blatant abuse of power and his department did right by dismissing him.

I think he should've been reprimanded for using poor judgment... however with all the media attention it got i think the department felt forced to take action against him.

I think the cop was probably having a very bad day. The ticket was obviously stupid, but I don't think he should have been fired for it.

So if your neighbor was always out front with his Dick out, you'd not care?
