My ds loves the lorax. Actually he likes the music. Its acceptable, but honestly not my first pick. Even the lion king is kinda iffy imo. Why is it so hard to find a good wholesome g rated children's movie. My mom gave ds puss in boots and I made the mistake of putting in on before I previewed it. BIG mistake, i heard some of the crap and that movie went off with the quickness!
Im watching Jonah veggie tales right now, so far its ok.
What are some other good movies for a young child?

Puss in Boots is not very child friendly. Same with The Cat in the Hat!
My son loves Finding Nemo, Cars and Cars 2, Wall-E, and Bolt.

I was thinking about getting cars, but after my experience with puss, im hesitant about spending my money and I haven't seen it on red box.

Honestly? I dont really censor my childrens television like that. Of course I dont want them watching stuff with rape or abuse, etc in it.. But my 5 year old loves Walking Dead. I watch the episode first though..

It's about teaching your children between reality and fiction. My children know not to act like Spongebob and Patrick because they are CARTOONS. They know not to act like that in real life because it's inappropriate, but boy- it makes good TV.

All of the older Veggie-Tales are good for children

The older Disney movies too

It is very hard to find good children's movies now days and it is really sad too.

As parents we should use the movies and television shows  that our children as teachable moments.

Since you're iffy on The Lion King, I have no idea what to suggest...

Yea, I took my 5 yr old to see it in the theater and we rented it when it came out on DVD and both my kids watched it. I liked it.
