When is your LO no longer a baby?

Posted by   + Show Post
I've seen posts where people have argued "oh he's just a baby" when talking about a 4 year old. But then again I've seen people say "That's not a baby that's a toddler" referring to a 1 year old.

I know as moms our babies will always be our babies...

But what do you consider no longer a baby.

...hm...my son is still my baby and he's twenty-two...but to be fair I'm a Jewish mother and he's an only child...lol! I'm not sure what the limit is there, maybe when he has a child or when he's old enough to claim Social Security?

Yep. There are many preschools (not daycare based) that will accept any child who is fully potty trained.
That is to say if your kid can't wipe their own butt it doesn't count..

So a potty trained 2yr old is a pre-schooler??? I'm curious, not being wise.

It's a baby till it walks and talks. It's a toddler until it's potty trained, and it's a preschooler until kdg. Barring any serious developmental delays.

Well in sizes of there clothes anything under 5 is usually considered a toddler. So yeah he still my baby but at some point we got to cut the cord I got him potty trained at the age of 2 and off the nonnie when he turned 3 so now he will be starting pre-k this August coming up when he makes 4 I think at Age 4 when they are starting school they should be considered a big kid and not a baby anymore.

My four year old is my "baby". He is the youngest of four, I guess he won't be a baby next year when he starts kindergarten.
