C-Section moms....is it a risk you take?

Posted by   + Show Post
Does the doctor let you know he might cut the baby? My sister had an emergency c section and the doctor cut the babies cheek. I was just wondering how common this was?

I have had 4. My babies were all pretty average size. Not one of them were cut. I don't think it's very common.

I don't remember it being in any of my paperwork. I did read mine.

No. I had a c-section too. I don't know that that is very common.. though in your case it happened so it doesn't matter if it's common or not.

Sorry that happened!

I had my first by emergency c-section cuz his hr kept dropping. A good thing too cuz he had the cord wrapped around his throat and he was 10.9 lbs. My second was a scheduled c-section. I'm glad I had it since he ended up being even bigger at 12 lbs. Neither one of my boys were cut when they did my c-sections.

I had a emergency c-section with my son. No time to tell me anything or sign any paperwork. It was rushing back to the OR.

But, I am aware of that. I've read about the complications that can arise for mother and baby on my own. I'll be having a scheduled c-section in February.

That is terrible, but , I don't think it is that common.

I've heard of that happening but it's not a risk I take, I home birth.

I'm sure it's in the papers you sign, but they don't verbally go over all the risks.
