C-Section moms....is it a risk you take?

Does the doctor let you know he might cut the baby? My sister had an emergency c section and the doctor cut the babies cheek. I was just wondering how common this was?

I've never heard of it happening.

My niece was cut.. I wasn't told that was a possibility but I knew from my niece.. It's why I had a home birth after two sections.. I don't trust drs any further than I can throw them!

It is a risk.

I've had 2 c-sections and my kids never got cut.

However, I was born via c-section in 1983 and I have a tiny scar on my chest from a scalpel knick.

I have had 3 and no one ever told me this could happen and I have never heard of it happening to anyone else.

I've had 3 c sections.  I remember signing a bunch of stuff with my first, but it was an emergency c section, so I don't think they really had time to explain all the risks included. I honestly don't remember reading or hearing it with my second.  I do know that the doc explained everything with my 3rd, and made sure x324341 that I really did want my tubes tied.  She told me everything that could go wrong, and any complications she could think of.

I've never had one but I read a story about a baby whose arm was cut off.

um... holy hell, that Dr. sucked! I've had 2 c-sections, and nothing like that happened, and we're talking about, Emergency, the guy laid me down and cut in like 5 sec.s. My step mom got 2, no cutting of the baby. My tia had one, no cutting, my sister has had 2, no cutting of the baby.

It was in my consent forms. I had 4 c-sections and it never happened, thankfully!
