How many of you have ever not checked out an item in your cart at the store and not realized it till you got home with it?

That happened to me last night...

We went to Walmart got a ton of stuff. I saw the 20$ cake pop maker for kids and wanted to try it. Our neighbors have 6 kids so we figured we could share it with them too. We checked out in the back of the store because we park there... Yeah DH hates it but it feels easier to me. The poor lady was sick and we were all chatting and were having a nice time. She almost forgot the diapers and the new shoe rack under the cart till I reminded her the very last second.

Fail lol.

I don't think we have the recite anymore DH threw it away... But regardless I'm keeping the box and taking it back and paying for it properly. :)

Lol! We went to a party at a bounce house place. The parents of the party kid get free drinks. My husband walked up to order a drink and they were like "it's free!" We were so confused but ended up correcting her. Lol.

Quoting Byrd15:

Wow!

Yeah that's not your fault I can see not going back. We had a girl in CiCis not have us pay for our meal. We walked in saying we were with a party. She handed us our drinks, we asked if we had to pay and she said no. We shrugged and ate! We asked our friend if she paid for the party and said no! I think it was her last day on the job lol.

One time I handed the guy all my stuff. He just didn't scan one thing. I didn't realize until a few days later. It really is a hassle and I did not make the 45 minute drive back to the store to pay for it.

Yeah I had realized that we didn't buy it on the way home but it was like 20 degrees and our son was asleep. Definetly will be going back but just may take me a day or two lol

I was at Wal-Mart n had to buy a bunch of stuff, ds was in the cart n a, lil over a year old. .upon leaving the alarm went off I was irritated cuz I had just spent like 300 and had 2 fussy kids , the door guy was super nice I showed him the receipt and he glanced through the bags. When I got home and started digging through my large purse I found the perfume I'd intended to buy! I felt like crap!

no one owes you anything.

Quoting Anonymous:

Meh. Whatever. The amount of money I spend on groceries is practically robbery also. They owe me one... Or two.

Quoting Anonymous:

well thats horrible. it's one thing for it to happen as an accident but to do it intentionally....sad

Quoting Anonymous:

I don't go back and pay. In fact, sometimes I put stuff in the bottom of the cart hoping that the cashiers will forget about it. This works especially well in the self check out line in some stores.

My son once stole a candy bar while we were at check out. He was 4yrs old, in the car buggies they have at wal mart. I didn't realize he had it until I got ready to get.him.out of the buggy. I explained to him that what he did was stealing and he could get in trouble for it, then I took him back inside and made him apologize and pay it.

Dh worked there at the time (embarrassed me more) he told me not to worry about it cuz they have insurance on items just in case, and that they may not believe the story and call pd just to be dicks ..... I don't understand that if you're trying to come clean , but the perfume was a little more expensive then that ...who knows ...

Exactly.
I had a box of caprisuns in the bottom of DS stroller when we didn't have a car in AZ and I had to take the bus to get groceries. I couldn't take it back unless I wanted to add another hour to my trip.
But I'll drive 30 mins here to take this back! 20$ is too much!

i have also stolen something but not on purpose.  Myself and my son were in Home Depot, I pulled out a Coke bottle from the fridge near the checkouts and continued shopping.  I sat it upright in my purse so it wouldn't leak (we opened it to drink).  When i finished buying my 3 cans of paint and rollers, we got out to the car and I grabbed my purse from the cart and freaked! The pop had fell down in my purse and was laying in there the whole time.  I made my son go in and pay for it.  It was only $1.29 but I shop there a lot.  This was this past summer.

My son took a KitKat bar once

I made him go back into the dollar tree to return it, but because he went back and was so "cute in saying sorry" not only did he get the KitKat the older couple at the check out paid for it and a couple of more

(Facepalm) thankfully he was embarrassed bout having to say sorry he hasn't done it again! And no I did not let him have the candy that day!
