they basically told us we have to get one or wear a mask from Dec 1st until March 31st. The problem with that is we work in a residential program.. we are expected to do day to day activities.. we are even going to have to wear it outside in the community with the youth. We are going to have to eat in the office.. which is crap because we will NEVER get time to eat and we are suppose to eat with the kids...
the union veto'ed them making us wear stickers if we didn't have the shot since it was stigmatizing.. so why the heck can they stigmatize us with face masks??
Just waiting to call my union..

Quoting Anonymous:tell them you'll wear their damn sticker
oh no they decided that was stigmatizing.. and now we have to wear masks...wtf...

I heard about this on the radio. One business fired over 100 people for refusing to get the flu shot.
I am against it. I hardly ever get sick, and (knock on wood) I've never had the flu.
It's understandable (sort of) to have those who work with immune-compromised individuals, but geez. Some people (like myself) have never had the shot and hardly ever get sick. Others (like a woman I read about today) had the shot and it caused terrible side-effects.
I know there's probably no way to tell who it will cause problems with and who it won't, but why can any place require something that "could" cause such awful things....
They do realize that there's more than one strain of the flu and just because you get your flu shot doesn't mean you won't catch it right?
