My reasoning why my child will not believe in Santa.

I have 2 reasons behind this that I feel strongly about.

1.) I am NOT going to have my child(ren) thinking some strange fat man gave them all those gifts that I worked my butt off to pay for.

2.) IF you are a Christian and you tell your child about Santa and Jesus every year, and they find out Santa isn't real. Why would they believe in Jesus if you have lied to them their whole lives about Santa?

Just my thoughts on Santa and Christmas..

We're not telling our child about Santa. My husband not I grew up believing in it.

I don't believe in Jesus, and don't need to brag to my kid about all the money I spent on her and how hard I worked to make that money. The magic of Christmas/Santa has no price tag to me.

Besides we do Santa gifts and family gifts as well.

My xdh never agreed with me on the whole no santa thing... So Ethan (ds) would go over there, wouldn't that confuse him??? If xdh told him about santa and I didn't?? Serious question. I have been contemplating this for years, before ds was born...

He is 4, he doesn't care much for Santa...

Eh dd loves the whole idea of christmas and santa. I'm not going to crush her feelings over my own selfish reasons. I've never heard of a child being in intensive therapy as an adult because they discovered santa was really mommy and daddy lol

Your first reason - do you really need to lord it over your kids' heads that you spent your hard-earned money on them?  That sems so strange to me.  We buy gifts for our kids because we want to, not so we can say "look how much we spent on you."

Santa is not the same for everyone. Our religion has a "Santa" and he's not a lie.
