The day you finally felt like an adult

What was it?  For me it wasn't graduating high school, joining the military, having a kid, or anything like that....  Mine was buying furniture. Up until my dd was 2 I had hand me down furniture and dishes.  After an injury settlement from a car accident I had some money. I donated all my old furniture to a family who lost everything in a fire and bought new furniture that I picked out, negotiated for, and paid cash.  I finally felt like an adult.

What was yours?

Moving into my first apartment with DH (BF at the time), made me feel very adult.

I own a home, have a BS, have a son, and am almost 30. I still don't feel like an adult. I don't know when I will feel like one, maybe tomorrow.

When I moved out of my parent's house. It was exciting, liberating, but scary too. Finally I didn't have other people trying to control my every move.

Me too. I do adult things. I have adult responsibilities, but I still feel like a kid often enough for it to still be fun.

This past New Year's. My last job gave me a bottle of Sailor Jerry. Adult gifts, hooray!
