I've been thinking about it. I've been looking for a reputable place to talk to. The money would make a world of difference!

I'm pretty sure I could handle donating my eggs. How painful is it? I wouldn't be worried about it being "my" child because it's not my child. I would be giving this egg up to another family. If I saw a child at the park that resembled me around the same age of the egg child, I would wonder if it was my child. I think that would be kinda neat.

I could use the money... and we do not want any more kids.

No, I have medical issues that would preclude me from being a viable donor. I looked into it about 5 years ago to help a friend.

No.  I don't want my biological children in someone else, or being raised by someone else.  I also think that the 8k compensation could be better used in an orphanage/children's home.

What is the process? Is it seriously painful and draining? What are the shots for ?

Quoting Anonymous:

I work at an infertility clinic and have girls come in all the time to donate. While I think it is an amazing thing to do, after having kids of my own I just don't think I could do it. I see what the process is and what they go through, I can give shots and take blood all day but I am a horrible patient and getting shots everyday is not on my list of things to do. I am also the kind of person that would see a kid that looked like me and always wonder where my eggs went. But for the girls that can do I know many many ladies that appreciate it and couldn't have a baby any other way.
