When a recipe calls for white wine do you use cooking wine or actual drinking wine?

1 mom liked this

NOT cooking wine, it's digusting.  Use any dry white wine that you would drink.

Don't use any wine that you wouldn't drink!

It depends. I keep cooking wine on hand in case, but I prefer drinking wine and use it more often. Sometimes I just can't make it out to buy a bottle before I need it.

I use a dry table wine. But cooking wine will work, too, like, for a sauce. If you want the wine taste to be prominent, use real wine, not cooking wine.
