5 and a half months pregnant and appendix about to burst!
My stepsister had to go into surgery today, her appendix is apparently about to burst. She is 5 and a half months pregnant, and she has lupus so she is already a high risk pregnancy. I'm not at the hospital because today is my last regular day of college (next week exams) so all my classes we have final speeches to do today and I could not miss, but I'm a wreck. I'm so scared of the baby not surviving this...am I worried for no reason? Is that an easy surgery to perform on a pregnant woman? Did anyone else have an appendix out while pregnant? I called between classes for an update, but she is still in surgery. Please everyone send my stepsister your warm wishes, and/or prayers today. She has been giving herself shots in the stomach multiple times a day to sustain this pregnancy, just like the first one due to her lupus. If something happens to this baby I know she will be devastated, we all will be. :(

Btw her first daughter despite the lupus was born healthy, but her Dr didn't suggest another pregnancy but she wanted one. So with her already being high risk I'm so scared!

I'm trying, I'm just such a worrier. My niece passed at 19 months due to birth defects basically, and my cousin had 7 miscarriages in the last few years. So I have trouble staying positive. The whole time I was pregnant myself I was constantly poking my belly to make my son move because I was scared of the worst.

It's a very common surgery, on pregnant women also. During my internship I did 4 appendectomies on pregnant women in my first 4 days.
She got this in the bag ;)
She will be in my thoughts.
