Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

The above photo is me in August with a ring sling that I made for my DD. I am a size 12.

And this is us at the Big E this summer. I weigh LESS now than I do in this photo.

I know for a fact that sizes don't mean S**T. I'm pretty tall, so I know that factors in. Also, body type has a lot to do with it, too. I just hate when people make blanket statements about this sort of thing - One size does not fit all! :-)

ETA: I am 5'9''

I just wanted to add that I am not fishing for compliments - I'm just trying to make a point that just because you are a certain size, be it small OR big, it (by itself) doesn't necessarily mean that you are thin or fat

I'm a 12, yes, but I wear a lot of 13s because I like the styles better. Soooo, idk??? The size charts are all a bunch of hoo-ha anyway. It depends where you shop - you could be a 10 in one place, a 14 in another, or an 11/12.... It's a crapshoot!

Nines and twelves are different.  If you are a 9, you are wearing a junior size, which is more like a size 6 in misses.  Currently, I am a misses 4.  I can squeeze into my size 2s, but they aren't as comfortable.  My hips don't like jr size clothing, lol.

Quoting Miss-B:

I wouldn't want to be a size 12. I'm 5'3", tho. I'm a size nine.

Your Dr. is a moron.  Lol.  You're BMI is 21.5, which is perfect by any standards, and by the look of your avatar you are toned and have muscle so most of that is not fat anyway.

I'm 5'7" and 137lbs and a size four, I was told I should drop ten pounds by my doctor if I really wanted to be healthy....

Regardless of what size you wear, if you are healthy and happy thats all that matters.

Thank you, he was a new doc and I was in shock when he said that. I run an hour a day and eat fairly healthy.

Yes, you are right about that!  Gap runs HUGE for instance, which is why I love them, lol.

I find some cute Jr styles but they just don't fit me no matter what size I try.  Waist/hips are off and my boobs are too big for my body, lol.  I hate them.

I've never worried about the number on my pants. Seriously there is nothing I can do about having a big butt and hips, no matter how little I weigh.

Yeah this was my first time seeing him, I couldn't even say anything I was in shock. I was more then pissed off by the time I got home, I work my butt of to get my body where I wanted it.

Quoting Karenjm:

Holy cow!  You may want to look for another doctor.  I am also 5'7" and apparently my ideal weight is 143 or something crazy like that.  If I did actually weigh that, I'd look sick and malnourished.
