Elijah(5) & I made salt dough ornaments.

He thought we were making cookies, even tho I made it VERY clear they are NOT cookies. I wish I would have had my camera ready when he took a bite. haha The look on his face was priceless! He was warned!

Anyway.. here are some of the ornaments before they went into the oven, they are still in the oven so I don't have pictures of the finished product just yet.

Pouring ingredients

What do you mean use my hands?!

Me getting to work since Elijah didn't want to get messy.

Each of our first initials (Glenn, Ashley, Elijah, Kovu) cat and ginger boy. This was just the first batch...

Yeah.. well, I don't have any paint. I thought I did. I was going to try coloring with marker & see if that works. If not, I'll buy some pain tomorrow.

haha I felt bad for him so I told him I'd take a tiny taste & OMG. the salt was overwhelming.

The recipe I used was 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 1 cup of water. It turned out pretty well. I had to add just a tad bit more flour tho.

lol We don't keep any dyes in our house. Dyes drive Elijah crazy so its best to just not have them in the house, period. Thanks for the suggestion tho. :)
